The MP for Kenora believes the tourism sector can play a big role in helping Canada’s economy get back on its feet.
Eric Melillo says he continues to advocate for the local industry but so far the government hasn’t listened.
“I’ve been having so many different conversations with Ministers. Writing letters, having phone calls, asking questions in Committee. They tell me that they are listening but they haven’t made any action so I think that their actions speak for themselves.”
Melillo says the government must provide a lot more flexibility in the COVID-19 programs that have been unveiled.
The Conservative member stresses he will keep pushing and wants honest, straight forward answers to questions when it comes to things like when the border with the U.S. will re-open as well as a national plan to restart the economy.
