The Red Lake Airport is seeing a drop in passengers, but they are handling it well.
Although they have been seeing less business, the airport hasn’t been as hard hit as most other airports across Ontario.
Airport Manager Duane Riddell says they are fortunate that they have a lot of cargo traffic as those flights have helped keep them afloat with the lack of passengers.
Riddell stresses he understands the importance of safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Pretty critical when you’re one of the main entry points for a community that you do your very best to protect the community. Second fold, the aviation world, people are going to get back into an airplane they have to feel comfortable.”
