The Municipality of Sioux Lookout now has clear direction on community priorities and needs over the next five years.
Council has approved a new Strategic Plan.
Mayor Doug Lawrance says it recognizes the importance of working with other agencies, municipalities, and different levels of government to address the challenges they face.
Lawrance says the plan includes five priorities; innovation and development, community wellness, community engagement, regional collaboration and operational excellence.
The community vision is “A vibrant community where diversity, nature and compassion drive our prosperity.”
The mission statement is “Fostering growth and healthy living while celebrating our cultural diversity.”
Lawrance says “When you think of everything that’s going on in the news these days in terms of COVID or some of the racial divide. I think that our strat plan is really a good bridge for that through the vision and mission.”
The plan will provide a framework for future decision-making and be aligned to individual department plans.
