A project that’s been in the works for four years will finally get going Tuesday.
The City of Dryden says they are starting Stage 1 of the Van Horne Avenue Rehabilitation Project.
The first phase includes work from Arthur Street to Victoria Street.
Upgrades include replacing the road and watermains, as well as sanitary sewer and storm sewer work.
Motorists can expect delays and closures over the course of the project which is expected to last until early September.
Drivers are asked to follow a marked alternate route at this time of Earl Avenue from Davis Street to Duke Street.
Makkinga Contracting was selected to carry out the $2.3 million project.
The company has completed work in Dryden before.
The work is completely funded by government grants.
