A new poll says a lot of us want virtual doctors’ appointments to continue after the pandemic.
The Canadian Medical Association is out with the results of an Abacus Data poll in mid-May.
Out of 1,800 Canadians, almost half say they’ve connected with a doctor virtually during COVID-19, and 90% of that group were satisfied with their experience.
Just under half who have had virtual appointments say they want to have the option to phone, video conference, email or text their doctor for advice after the pandemic.
People who consult a physician more than once a year are more inclined to prefer the first contact to be an in person visit, but more than a third of those patients would prefer a virtual contact first.
Among those who see a doctor less than once a year, half would prefer a virtual contact as a starting point.
