Three key players are returning to the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
The team has announced Nolan Marshall, Dylan DiTomaso and Xavier Halterman are coming back.
Head Coach and GM Kurt Walsten talks about Marshall.
“We call him Phil Kessel of the SIJHL. Nolan says he’s going to come back ready to go. He wants to score 50 goals this year and his ability, he can score 50 goals with us.
The 19-year-old from Osgoode, Ontario caught fire just before the cancellation of the SIJHL season and finished with 43 points in 51 games.
Commenting on Xavier Halterman, Walsten says “Halterman was our leading scorer last year. He killed all of our penalties and he won our Fan Favourite Award. He’s coming back as a 20-year-old. He’s serious. He wants to win a championship.”
The product of St. Albert, Alberta recorded 12 goals and 37 assists in 52 games during the 2019-2020 season.
In terms of Dylan DiTomaso, Walsten states “He’s matured. He wants to have a leadership role. Dylan always worked hard for us last year and as a rookie defenceman last year he scored a lot of power-play goals for us and competes hard.”
The 19-year-old from Etobicoke, Ontario finished last season with 9 goals and 10 assists in 33 games.
Walsten stresses all three are focused on bringing the Bill Salonen Cup back to Dryden and being leaders in the dressing room.
