Rural and remote communities and First Nations across northwestern Ontario are being encouraged to take advantage of a COVID-19 emergency relief support fund.
The $808,000 is aimed at helping vulnerable populations from White River to the Manitoba boundary and is being managed by the Thunder Bay Community Foundation and the United Way of Thunder Bay.
Foundation Executive Director Alexandra Calderon says they want to ensure qualified charities, municipalities and First Nations have access to funding needed to support projects addressing a pressing social inclusion or well-being caused by the coronavirus.
Applications are approved on a rolling basis and must be submitted by July 31st.
