COVID-19 restrictions could be lifted region by region across Ontario.
Premier Doug Ford says he is considering it now that the province has a new testing plan in place.
“I know other jurisdictions have used this regional approach. I want to look at how this has gone in other areas, what lessons we can learn. And it’s our job to use the best information we have,” Ford says.
The province’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. David Williams notes many of Ontario’s coronavirus cases are in the Toronto area, while other regions have gone weeks with no new cases.
