The Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation is reimagining its summer camp programming.
The 2020 camps will take place online in light of the COVID-19.
Executive Director Dave Newnham says the eCamps will attempt to continue the same camp experience but also continue the support for the campers emotionally and developmentally as they cope with the pandemic.
Newnham says kids will check-in as part of individual “cabin” groups and will take part in live events, programming, lessons, demonstrations and various other activities.
He hopes to bring kids back to their physical facilities next year.
“We are going to do everything we can to keep the camps in great shape. Right now, given the individual states of emergency, each of the camps are just being maintained and kept closed and has they begin to open back up we are going to follow the public safety guidelines.”
