The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says a forest fire sparked early Wednesday afternoon near Shabaqua is still listed as not under control.
The bush fire started about seven kilometres north of the Highway 11/17 junction and it forced the full closure of the Trans-Canada Highway for roughly nine hours.
The 50 hectare blaze required aerial attack throughout the afternoon and fire ranger crews are now assigned to the blaze.
The cause is not known at this time.
Highway 17 reopened to traffic around 9:00 last night.
