COVID-19 put a brief hold on the Dryden Meals on Wheels program, but volunteers are back in action.
The service has restarted after being cancelled temporarily due to safety concerns.
Spokesperson Penney Bradley says they were able to get things going again with some help.
“We have since partnered with the Dryden Regional Health Centre, the City, the Dryden Native Friendship Centre, as well as individuals who have self-identified with us to get the Meals on Wheels program back up and running.”
Bradley notes “So far it’s going not to bad. We had a few kinks initially but I think we are working through them. I just have to show my appreciation to all of our partners.”
Bradley adds they don’t have an official seniors shopping program in place at the moment, but they will help refer seniors to people who are willing to help.
