Claudine Savage is organizing the ‘White Ribbon’ campaign in Dryden and she is encouraging everyone to tie a white ribbon to a tree or a place in your window.
“It’s never going to be enough but we really would like to show you through gestures and through visuals that we do really appreciate what you are doing.”
Savage stresses it’s important to show solidarity within our community for those who are working so hard for our benefit.
White ribbons are generally used to end violence against women in Canada but a movement is underway in Ontario to extend that to frontline staff during this crisis.
Savage says its an American based campaign that can serve its full purpose throughout the world.
