Canadians are being asked to wear something red today (Friday) as a tribute to the tragic loss of RCMP Constable Heidi Stevenson and the other victims in the Nova Scotia shootings.
The National Police Federation urges Canadians to share pictures, videos, and messages of support online using the hashtag #WearRedFriday.
The organization says wearing red to support heroes is a “proud tradition” inspired by an initiative to support Canadian troops in Afghanistan.
The campaign has also been led by RCMP spouses over the years to honour fallen officers.
RCMP in partnership with the National Police Federation are asking everyone to stop what they’re doing at noon central time and observe a moment of silence while wearing red.
