The Mayor of Dryden says a collective effort continues in the fight against COVID-19.
During a municipal update on the coronavirus on the CKDR Morning Show today (Monday), Greg Wilson addressed concerns surrounding leadership.
“Getting through this requires coordinated leadership and teamwork at many levels. Leaders in this town are everywhere. Often strategizing with leaders in other parts of the community and with outside senior level agencies and governments, behind the scenes and out of the public eye.”
Wilson adds front-line staff in a number of areas are working tirelessly to ensure services are carried out and goods are available on a daily basis.
“The heroic front-line, hourly staff, who can be found in government services, both small and large businesses, charities, etc, working in close contact with customers to deliver essential goods and services.”
Wilson also acknowledged community members.
“Everyday private citizen heroes, risking exposure to the virus, simply by running grocery and medical prescription errands for other family members. I’ve been told knitters and quilters have been busy making homemade masks for our hospital and other health care workers.”
Wilson stresses everyone is doing their part to help keep the community safe and notes municipal staff meet daily to ensure the City is prepared for any new developments.
