The Dryden Regional Health Centre is making it easier for patients to keep in close contact with their loved ones.
Director of Information Technology Corrie Trist says they have received government funding for two, in-room tele-medicine units.
“Wheel these units in. Have their families connect and schedule a conversation over a period of time so that they can see each other and not just communicate over the phone.”
Trist says this allows for an open line of communication in a safe and efficient manner.
Trist admits it was a stroke of luck that they received the funding but is pleased they are able to use the money to enhance patient care at the hospital.
