Camp season is right around the corner but Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer is out with a clear warning for those looking to escape the coronavirus.
Dr. Theresa Tam stresses this isn’t the time to head to your cottage or cabin.
Dr. Tam says “Urban dwellers should avoid heading to rural properties as these places have less capacity to manage COVID-19.”
She suggests you can’t access treatment as easily as you would if you stayed in the City and notes there is no evidence indicating its safer to be in a rural setting.
This is the time when many people, especially those from Manitoba, head to Sunset Country to begin life away from the hustle and bustle of urban centres.
