Provincial Police are reporting their first presumptive positive case of COVID-19.
The OPP uniform member believed to be diagnosed serves the Nipissing West Detachment area in northeastern Ontario.
The individual is in isolation at their home and is recovering.
No other information is being released but the OPP say they were made aware of the case on March 21st.
OPP stress their members aren’t immune to the virus and steps are being taken to protect the health and safety of their team.
Police say given increased testing and interventions underway, additional presumptive positive cases are expected across the province.
OPP add they are making decisions to help limit the spread of the virus in the communities they serve.
