There are no local impacts reported following a confirmed case of COVID-19 involving a Sudbury man.
An employee with the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines tested positive for the virus on March 10th.
The man attended a major mining conference in Toronto but health officials state he wasn’t infected while at the gathering so he couldn’t have infected anyone.
Red Lake Mayor Fred Mota, Chief Administrative Officer Mark Vermette and Councillor Jamie Kristoff attended the PDAC conference.
In an e-mail to CKDR News, Mota says they all reached out to the Northwestern Health Unit and were given the all clear.
He says they were instructed to self monitor for any symptoms until early next week.
Officials with Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford state the Minister is not experiencing any symptoms but is self-monitoring for the suggested 14 days.
