Over the past weekend players from the two Dryden Girls Hockey Association Under-9 hockey teams combined to form the Dryden Wildcats and travelled to Emo.
The team participated in a one day jamboree and played 3 half ice games.
The Wildcats faced off with the Kenora Stingers, Kenora Ninjas and the Emo Express.
Here is write-up from coaching staff:
The team dropped their first affair, a hard fought game against the Stingers. With strong defensive performances from second years Liv Randell, Lyra Kiewning and Elliotte Priebe and a solid day between the pipes by Kate Iwanyk, the team started to come together and beat the Kenora Ninjas to win their second game. The third and final match against the Emo Express started off with some back and forth scoring, but the Wildcats offence took over and there was no looking back. Cora Ainslie and Brett Bachynski teamed up multiple times and Shyne Delaronde had her own three goal game. First year Novice players Riley Fullerton, Kobe Desjardins and Aspyn “Moose” DaSilva also had offensive contributions to the Wildcats win.
