The next school year will begin before Labour Day.
Trustees with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board have approved the 2020/2021 school calendar.
It calls for the school year to begin on August 31st, and the first day for kids will be a day later on September 1st.
Superintendent of Education Caryl Hron says they had almost 2,200 responses to their on-line survey, and only 225 were opposed to this option.
The final day of classes will be June 25th, 2021.
The other choice would be to start the school year after Labour Day and drag it into July.
The Northwest Catholic, Kenora Catholic and Rainy River District still have to approve the school calendar.
