The Dryden Fire Service continues to add to its team.
Three new full time staff members were introduced to Council on Monday.
Kent Readman is the Deputy Chief, Liz Godin becomes the Health and Safety Coordinator, while Dexter Hupe is the Training Officer.
Readman was the former Chief of the Marathon Fire Department.
Hoopey was one of their work experience firefighters and is a fire service graduate of Confederation College, where he also was an instructor.
Godin has been a firefighter in Dryden for two years and brings a nursing background to the team.
Chief Rob Grimwood says the new additions bring “stability, a lot of talent, a lot of energy. Just a phenomenal team.”
Grimwood notes a volunteer firefighter recruitment drive continues and he has received 20 applications.
He adds 2020 will be a busy year for the Dryden Fire Service.
Grimwood says they will soon be embarking on an aggressive fire prevention and smoke alarm program.
He adds they plan to purchase a new fire truck as well as replace some of their equipment.
Grimwood says they will also be revising their training program this year.
