The Information Technology team at Confederation College continues to work diligently to fully restore email and other services after a malware attack hit their system.
Some email has been partially restored but students and staff across the region shouldn’t rely on the service for communication at this time.
Director of Communications Rob Zuback says they are trying to figure out how the attack happened in the first place.
Zuback says a cyber security expert is conducting a forensic investigation and they hope to find some answers.
He notes the school is working to ensure students aren’t impacted with their students by offering extensions.
The College is also warning of a scam asking people to respond to an “Urgent e-mail security alert!” and a call-to action to click to “log-in”.
Officials say updates will only be communicated through their website and no one should click on email links.
At this time, there is no evidence that personal information has been removed from the Confederation College system.
