The Red Lake Miners could only muster 23 shots in a 4-2 setback Thursday in Thief River Falls.
Justin Schwartzmiller scored the winning goal with 9:25 left to play in the third to give the Norskies the important win.
Thief River Falls is now three points back of Dryden GM in the SIJHL standings.
Shaye Sommerfeld and Spencer Milne scored for the Miners, who remain three points back of first place Thunder Bay.
