We are now expecting between 25 and 35 centimetres of snow over the next couple of days.
Environment Canada says we will first get 15 centimetres starting early Sunday morning, then another 10 to 20 centimetres on Monday.
The snowfall warning is for Thunder Bay and the surrounding area, Atikokan, Upsala, Raith, Fort Frances, Rainy River, and Seine River Village – Mine Centre.
Meteorologist Monica Vaswani says it will affect much of Northwestern Ontario.
“It looks like for most of the day, anywhere from basically Fort Frances to Thunder Bay will be looking at some significant snowfall, but by the afternoon there could be some freezing drizzle mixed into that.”
“We’re expecting the snow to actually begin tonight, mainly overnight,” she notes, “But it will quickly intensify early tomorrow morning.”
