Recommendations have been made to improve Canada’s labour laws.
An independent panel has come up with 39 suggestions.
They include establishing a new way of setting the federal minimum wage and creating a “low wage” commission to study how minimum wage policies impact those who earn it.
The group spent four months speaking with employers, labour organizations and workers to come up with its findings.
The federal labour minister says the government will now consider the findings on how best to move forward on the proposal.
