Maria Iwanyk
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mother and Baba, on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the age of 87 with family by her side. Maria was born on August 29th, 1932 in Wilcanycia, Ukraine.
She moved to Canada in 1968, where she married the love of her life Wasyl of 43 years. Together, they raised 3 children. Mom took great pride in raising and caring for her family. She loved gardening and cooking. Her greatest passion was her eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Madison, Dean, Nicholas, Avery, Kate and Lauren.
Maria is survived by her daughter Cathy French (Dan), sons Mike Iwanyk (Crystal) and John Iwanyk (Leanne), eight grandchildren, brother Mike Stasiew in the Ukraine and numerous nieces and nephews in the Ukraine.
Funeral services for Maria Iwanyk will be held Thursday, December 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Moffat Chapel of the Stevens Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Campeau officiating. Interment will follow in the Dryden Cemetery.
Visitation will take place Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. with prayers to be recited at 6:00 p.m. in the Moffat Chapel.
