More and more of us are carrying less and less cash according to a new survey.
The Leger poll found Canadians carried an average of $45 in their wallets, which is down slightly from a year ago.
Maritimers carry the least amount of cash in the country at about $41 while Quebecers had the most at nearly $49.
Women carry almost $7 less than men and suburban residents carry less than those living in cities.
In terms of groups, middle-agers have the lightest wallets while millennial’s aren’t far behind.
The survey suggests Canadians overall are slowly but increasingly living without cash and prefer electronic payments instead.
