The little community of Ignace is showing Northwestern Hospitality for travellers who were caught by today’s closure of the TransCanada Highway.
Highway 17 has been closed for most of the day and is not expected to open before early evening as the OPP investigate a head-on collision between two semi’s.
Don Cunningham Ignace Mayor, says “We wish to express our sincere condolences to the families and first responders impacted by the tragedy on Highway 17 in our region this morning. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. There are no good words at a time like this. All we can do as a community, is open our curling hall for a warm place to sit and drink some coffee and have a snack. All travelling are welcome.
Take care – Don Cunningham, Township of Ignace – Mayor”
