Canada Post workers won’t have a new contract this year.
Talks with an arbitrator were supposed to wrap up by the end of the year but the Canadian Union of Postal Workers reports the arbitrator is asking for an extension until next June.
The union states the arbitrator had no choice because Canada Post has not finished submitting evidence that they intend to reply to.
Arbitration began last November after postal workers staged a series of rotating strikes that were ended by back-to-work legislation.
