Provincial Police are promoting an on-line option to report certain petty crime.
Things like minor thefts, driving complaints, acts of mischief under $5,000, damage to vehicles, lost property and stolen license plates can be reported through the OPP’s website.
Staff Sergeant Carolle Dionne says on-line reporting frees up officers time but they may still get back to you if more information or follow up is needed.
“It’s about being efficient in the services that we provide. It’s about being able to maximize where we are directing our services.”
Dionne still encourages the public to call police directly or 911 if the incident is more serious.
