Provincial Police in Sioux Lookout are welcoming three new officers.
Brittany Garner, Lauren Speakman and Samantha Lee have joined the force.
Constable Lee received the “Most Outstanding Recruit” award at Police Academy, while Constable Speakman received the “Eric Nystedt Fitness” award.
Constable Garner was born and raised in London, Ontario, where she was a hospital security guard for the past eight years.
Garner graduated from Seneca College with a diploma in Police Foundations.
She says she’s excited to start her career as a police officer in Sioux Lookout and she will be providing proactive services and will be engaging community members.
Constable Lee worked as a Special Constable with the OPP in Sioux Lookout before being hired as a constable.
She also worked as a 911 dispatcher at the Provincial Communications Centre in Orillia.
Lee studied Social Welfare and Social Development in University.
Constable Speakman worked as a case manager with a non-profit organization for two years before being hired as a constable.
She earned degrees in Sociology/Criminology and Family and Child Studies at the University of Guelph, and taught English at an international school in Thailand.
Speakman says Northern Ontario has a lot of prosperity and beauty and she looks forward to being being part of the community.
