It should be an electric atmosphere at the Lac Seul Events Centre tonight (Friday) as Junior Hockey returns to the community.
The Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Red Lake Miners will renew their rivalry away from their respective homes.
Facilities Manager Jeremy Capay says the community is looking forward to the experience.
“I’m very excited for this game. It’s elite hockey and that’s something that they (community members) would like to see more and more. And also it gives our future hockey players and those who are playing from here now a taste of what it’s like to make the next level.”
Capay adds “I just hope that it will bring an uplifting to our community that things can happen here in Lac Seul First Nation and hope that in the future we keep on hosting more games like this and it will inspire other communities up north to plan for the future.”
Game time is 7:30pm and if you can’t make the game CKDR will have the call.
Elsewhere in the SIJHL, Thunder Bay welcomes the Thief River Falls Norskies.
