One of the candidates in the provincial Liberal leadership race has brought his ideas to northwestern Ontario.
Speaking in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, Don Valley East MPP Michael Coteau stated his focus is adjusting to changing times.
Coteau says one of the ways to build new industry is to invest in the green tech sector.
He believes that can benefit many parts of Ontario, including the North.
Coteau stresses “There is a changing face of manufacturing in the province of Ontario. We’ve been going through transition now for quite some time and there’s all these new economies that are opening up.”
He says they need to look at new industries that will affected by automation and artificial intelligence.
Coteau is also pledging a stronger relationship between the province and municipalities.
He says they need to ensure more stability and predictability for municipalities to allow them to prepare for future growth.
Coteau is going up against Steven Del Duca, Kate Graham, Mitzie Hunter and Alvin Tedjo.
