The Ford government wants to see more people with a disability join the workforce.
The province is throwing support behind a hiring project with the Retail Council of Canada with a $100,000 contribution to help promote the recruitment and retention of people with disabilities in the retail sector.
The program helps businesses understand the benefits of hiring people with disabilities and to promote accessibility tools and resources.
The goal is to fill existing gaps and vacancies in the workforce.
In Ontario, about 58% of people with disabilities now hold down a job compared to 81% of people without a disability.
