Election Canada has announced the polls in the Thunder Bay-Rainy River riding will stay open an additional hour.
There was an error on the cards sent to eligible voters, so to make up for that polls won’t close until 10:30pm eastern.
The riding spreads across two time zones and the voters in central time reportedly received cards that said the polls were open until 9:30pm when for the Fort Frances area the polling was supposed to be 8:30am to 8:30pm.
Voter turnout in advance polls was higher than normal but there has been no indication of lineups at area polling stations in the two Thunder Bay ridings.
The Thunder Bay area is also being plagued by power ourages throughout the City which may impact voter turnout.
