The federal leaders are pounding the pavement with just two days left until election day.
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is making stops in southern Ontario, and tonight he’s scheduled to be in Winnipeg and a rally in Calgary.
In Hamilton, Justin Trudeau didn’t appear receptive to a coalition or minority government.
When asked about his feelings on the topic, the Liberal Leader instead emphasized he wants voters to elect a Liberal government.
“And I know Canadians want a strong, progressive government, that will stop Conservative cuts, that will invest in the fight against climate change, that will get guns off our streets and that will make life more affordable for families right across the country.”
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer spoke about his party’s platform to voters in the Greater Toronto area.
He refused to provide an answer when asked multiple times by reporters if his team hired a consultation firm to conspire against the People’s Party.
“When it relates to party matters, we don’t comment on contracts we may or may not have with vendors,” Scheer said over a reporter’s repeated interjections asking why he can’t answer the question.
As for the NDP, party leader Jagmeet Singh is in the Vancouver area where he spoke to residents concerned about a lack of affordable housing.
He said previous governments’ decisions are to blame for the circumstances that lead to the complaints he heard.
“In a country as rich as ours, we should not be having these struggles. There should be a way that we can figure out to have affordable housing, and people don’t have to be risking their health and their mental health,” Singh said to supporters.
Green Party Leader Elizabeth May is also campaigning in the Vancouver area today.
Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet is touring Quebec today, as is People’s Party Leader Maxime Bernier.
