We are less than one week away from the Federal election and CKDR continues to profile the Kenora riding candidates.
Today we feature incumbent Liberal Bob Nault.
Nault says his priority will be securing additional infrastructure funding for our area.
“This is why I’m here and this is what I’m signalling that if we get a Conservative government you will see cuts and you won’t see investments like you see now, because they are not prepared to put that kind of money into places like northern Ontario.
Nault says “I came back to politics in 2015 for one reason and one reason only. This region needs major infrastructure development and it needs a government that’s willing to spend the money on us. And this is not small money, this is not a million here, a million there. This is like $1.6-billion for infrastructure for the grid.”
He’s also promoting his work and the Liberals commitment to develop a regional All-Nations Hospital in Kenora.
Nault believes they are on the right track.
He says the federal government is already on board and they have everyone working together.
Nault warns a change of leadership next Monday may result in a setback for the project.
He has been running a campaign on the importance of experience.
Nault says he has represented the riding for 20 years, going back to 1988, and adds this is his 6th federal election.
