Born in Montreal, March 25, 1965, Lisanna Aline Rudi Garrett, spent her youth in the Ottawa, Montreal and Hull areas, where she attended public and high schools, started a career in theater and stage performance, and lived and farmed on the Warnock Farmstead with her beau Robbie.
As a child, Lisanna and siblings spent time living in France with various family members, going to school, farmstead life at her Aunt and Uncle’s, mushroom picking with her Grandparents (whom she adored) and summers at the family seaside villa exploring sea critters and feeling the Mistral Winds of the Mediterranean.
In her twenties, Lisanna arrived in Dryden, ON, via the Richan Train, being dropped off in the middle of nowhere, to take a job as a camp cook at a local tree planting farm. Lisanna soon found a cherishing home with the George and Alice (and children) Solomon Family. The Solomon’s showed Lisanna the many gifts NWO had to offer and lakes, blueberry picking and family fish dinners were her favorite.
In 1996, Lisanna and Christopher Cleghorn embarked on a life long journey together. Both moving to St. Catharines, ON, to further their education. Lisanna became a Registered Acupuncturist, worked on the Six Nations Reserve offering her services and helped countless people and animals thereafter with her acupuncture. Lisanna was also a gifted herbalist. Lisanna is salt of the earth. Short Hills Provincial Park was her favorite place to walk and the fruit orchards of Jordan Valley brought much joy. Lisanna and Chris returned to Dryden in 2010.
Throughout her thirties, Lisanna traveled to France to visit Grandparents and Family. Lisanna’s travels brought her to England and Mexico many times, sometimes with Christopher and at times on her own. She was intrepid and brave always.
Lisanna settled in Dinorwic and loved picking mushrooms, blueberries, gardening, walking, swimming, camping, exploring abandoned structures, often alongside her precious dog and kitties, and always accompanied by her friend Daniel Bobay or Christoper or both.
Lisanna’s love of Nature was supreme. As you remember her, picture Lisanna within the woods always, walking and watching nature unfold. Lisanna loved home-cooked dinner’s with Family and Friends, followed by a good movie. She loved all things compassionate and nurturing. She’d swim a lake until she was but a dot on the horizon.
Lisanna is survived, missed and forever cherished by her bestest friends Christopher Cleghorn and Daniel Bobay, George & Alice Solomon family, extended Cleghorn Family, sister’s Pascal Garrett and Silva (Jeff) Tanguay and cousins throughout France, Friends in England, Mexico and Dryden.
A Private Family Service has taken place. Interment followed in the Dryden Cemetery.
