Despite all of the rain, the Lake of the Woods Control Board isn’t concerned with lake levels on Lac Seul.
The current level is 356.33 metres, which is considered normal according to Executive Engineer Matt De Wolf.
“We look at 1986 to 2015 as sort of our statistical set and we are right in the middle there. Expecting it to come up a little bit over the next week, maybe about 3 to 4 inches, but nothing to extreme at this point.”
However, De Wolf says they are increasing outflow at the Ear Falls Dam in an attempt to slow the rise of the lake to keep it within the range.
He says they are having more serious conditions on Lake of the Woods.
