Atikokan’s Alex Sampson is hoping to make his mark as a singer now that he has caught the attention of a California music industry official.
The 15-year-old says he was recently flown to Los Angeles and recorded five songs.
Sampson is now waiting to see how well his songs do on various music platforms before deciding what happens next.
He’s also waiting for the photos from a photo shoot.
Sampson notes he’s supposed to return to L.A., but no set date has been set.
The teen says a music official heard him sing on Instagram and messaged him through the social media app.
Sampson calls the entire journey “totally crazy”.
“I think that it’s actually absolutely amazing, I never thought that I would ever have any of this. I’ve always just been singing in my bedroom, singing in talent shows and I never really thought anything would come of it. But, I mean, here we are.”
