No new wildfires in the region this week.
As of Thursday, August 29th, there were 16 active fires in northwestern Ontario.
Three are considered under control, while crews are keeping tabs on the other 13.
Most of the active blazes in the region are located north of Red Lake along the Manitoba boundary.
As the fire season continues to wind down with the arrival of cooler weather, the fire hazard is currently low across the region.
So far, there have been a total of 518 forest fires in Ontario.
Last year, crews had to contend with over 1,200.
