The Service Hub and Emergency Shelter in Kenora will continue to be closed for at least another month.
The committee that is looking at the facility says it has worked diligently to try and house the most vulnerable patrons.
But it hasn’t been easy.
Community groups say a lack of housing and barriers such as low-income, lack of family or friends, addiction, and mental health challenges have made it difficult.
The committee continues to meet once a week to try and figure out a solution to the Hub and Shelter in the hopes the NeChee Friendship Center will not only be able to operate it on September 26th, but the days after.
