The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is now actively searching for a new Director of Education.
The Phelpsgroup has been hired and tasked for finding a replacement for Sean Monteith.
Monteith left the post for the same position in the Belleville, Ontario area.
An Ad for the position states the Director will have to meaningfully participate in four strategic goals:
-Student Achievement: Ensure the necessary resources are provided to all students to increase their individual achievement.
-Safe and Supportive Schools: Ensure all students and staff have safe learning and working environments, where the academic and mental health needs of the child are met.
-Innovative practice: Demonstrate effective “Change Ready” leadership.
-Reconciliation: Ensure all schools and staff are actively engaged in responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
It also states the successful applicant must be a manager of change and able to strengthen, inspire and motivate the senior management team and you must be committed to equity and inclusion.
The deadline to apply is September 19th.
Caryl Hron will serve as the interim Director until a replacement is found.
