The Mayor of Dryden is looking for Council and community input on a possible name change for Colonization Avenue.
Mayor Greg Wilson is hoping to rename the street, Lugli Avenue, in honour of the well respected and popular family who was struck by tragedy last month.
Wilson says he selected Colonization Avenue since it is a well known street with many locals who live on it and it’s also one of the first streets you see when you enter the City from the east.
It also paves the way to St. Joseph’s Catholic, the home school for the entire family.
He also says the inspiration for the idea came from the outpouring of community support for the family after the tragedy in July.
Wilson stresses that there are a lot of families, past and present, who deserve to have a street named after them, but he feels the time is right to move in this direction.
