The Dryden Police Service isn’t too pleased with the most recent statistics around local distracted driving charges.
Inspector Ann Tkachyk provides an update on those numbers saying they have laid 30 distracted driving charges from April to the end of June compared to 17 charges from January to the end of March.
Tkachyk also reminds drivers that looking at your phone at a stop sign or red light is still considered distracted driving and can get you fined.
She also highlights the stricter penalties introduced this year starting at a $615 fine and potential conviction after multiple offences.
