The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry continues to make great progress on active fires in the region.
There are 19 fires currently burning, however only one is considered not under control.
Two new small fires sparked yesterday. (Thursday)
A blaze was extinguished near Wabigoon, while another fire is under control about five kilometres east of Highway 599 near New Osnaburgh First Nation.
Despite all of the recent rain, the fire hazard is moderate to high in the western portion of the district.
It’s low to moderate in the eastern area.
Travel restrictions have also ended in the Red Lake area.
