Thanks to the wet weather the forest fire situation seems to be calming down in Northwestern Ontario.
There was one new fire confirmed yesterday afternoon being Fort Frances Fire 13 which is about 45 kilometers southeast of Ignace.
The fire is 0.1 hectares and not under control.
Recent rainfall has helped suppression efforts for Red Lake Fire 39 which is still not under control at over 44 thousand hectares.
But Red Lake Fire 40 saw a change as the over 30 thousand hectare fire is now classified as being held.
The fire hazard is low throughout the northwest region.
