Thunder Bay welcomed the Stanley Cup with great enthusiasm on Tuesday.
Thousands lined up to get their picture with the cup and St. Louis Blues defenceman Robert Bortuzzo
Bortuzzo is the first graduate of the Superior International Junior Hockey League to win hockey’s top prize.
He says he was thrilled to bring the Cup back to his hometown, calling it a special moment.
“You know what it means to a town like this. For myself to have a chance to bring it back to this community that’s meant so much to my career and my life and I like spending time here. It means a lot.”
Bortuzzo adds “It’s just my chance to give back a bit. I will never be able to truly repay what this community has meant for me and my career in terms of growing up and playing hockey as a young kid here.”
