Marvin John Peters
May 6, 1949 – July 12, 2019
In Loving memory of Marvin John Peters, age 70, who went to be with the LORD peacefully on July 12, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Thunder Bay, surrounded by his family.
John is survived by his wife Donalda of 50 years, his 3 children, Jeff, Jennifer (Mike McMillan) and Julie Bergsma, 8 grandchildren, William, Lauren, Rachel, Genevieve, Aaron, Wade, Jacob and Jordan. John has 3 surviving brothers, Wilfred (Shirley), Art (Barb) and Wayne (Karen).
John was predeceased by his parents Bill and Helen Peters, brother Ken Peters and sister Marilyn Runge.
John attended school in Quibel, Red Lake Road, Vermilion Bay and Dryden High School. John drove logging truck and pastored churches in Whitehorse YT, Weagamow, ON and Dallas, MB. John ran his own business in Minnitaki and Keewatin before retiring 2 ½ years ago to live in Minnitaki where he loved being outdoors and working on the property. John enjoyed clearing trails, cutting and hauling firewood and playing on his John Deere tractor. John deeply valued being in the quiet outdoors hunting and fishing but also loved to visit with people and was a good friend to many. John had a deep faith in God and love for his family. He will be very missed.
A Funeral Service to celebrate John’s life will be held Thursday July 18th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Dryden & District Agricultural Centre with Reverend David Kimball and Pastor John Snider officiating. Interment will follow in the Minnitaki Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Funeral Service from 10:00 until 11:00 on Thursday July 18th.
