The former Chief Executive Officer of the Dryden Regional Health Centre is reflecting back on his 28 years at the hospital.
Wade Petranik is now enjoying retirement but says he left the facility with nothing but fond memories.
Petranik says one major accomplishment was creating an environment that supports the highest level of care that they can provide.
“Having that culture within the organization. It certainly made us more resilient, better communicators and make us work better as a team. So that we are there when people need us the most.”
He stresses the hospital has an amazing team that continues to deliver for the patients in the community.
Petranik adds the grassroots support they get from the community, year in and year out, is fantastic.
Petranik is also remembering his time with the Ontario Hospital Association.
“It is always a challenge to communicate and to advocate around uniqueness of the north and how sometimes Toronto made solutions don’t necessary work well for us. It’s really a constant work that needs to be done.
The OHA calls Petranik a champion of health care in the north.
